The story and mindset of Equilibro

Equilibro is a Physiotherapy business for the horse and rider, striving to deliver high-standard physiotherapeutic services to support optimal welfare and performance for the equestrian athletes. Equilibro was founded by Isabeau Deckers in 2019 and is since 2023 settled in Belgium. Isabeau works with a big variety of athletes from different levels and disciplines and has developed a specific interest/ skill set in managing spinal function, both in the horse and the rider.

Veterinary & Human Physiotherapist

BSc (hons), MSc (hons), PhD

Isabeau grew up between horses and competed in show jumping and dressage since she was 8 years old. Following her passion for the horse and the equestrian sports, she started studying 'Physiotherapy & Rehabilitation Sciences (BSc & MSc)' at the University of Antwerp in 2013, after which she specialised in Veterinary Physiotherapy (MSc) at Hartpury University in 2018. Once graduated in 2020, she started her PhD in Equine Back Biomechanics at Hartpury University, which she completed in 2024. Combining her Academic background with her lifelong experiences working with horses, she endeavours to support optimal welfare and performance for the horse and rider as a Physiotherapist and a Researcher!
